GART is pleased to present Chromatic Spaces, the first solo exhibition in the gallery of the digital artist Paolo Basso.
Paolo Basso’s work is the result of the union between painting and new technologies. Perfectly nuanced and illusory, his artworks allow us to enter into new worlds, hyperreal chromatic spaces. “Digital Lands” and “Flowers” are the titles of some of his artworks in the exhibition that, chromatically perfect, allow an experience of colour, as he says, “if possible different“. This is not to confuse the viewers, but to amaze them.
Too intentional to be minimalist abstractions, too precise to be paintings in the traditional sense. Paolo Basso’s artworks embody the emerging third dimension, giving us the opportunity to expand our experience of observing colour.
The first room of the gallery is dedicated to artworks conceived by the artist in parallel with his research: Digital Land, Stateless and Flower.
In the second room, the new project TSO is presented, created specifically for the exhibition at GART, born from dialogues and reflections between the artist and art curator Francesca Carbone. The result is a collection of new artworks that, with a semiotic approach to colour, explore the dimension of black, white and shades of grey.
The official opening of the exhibition will take place on Friday, 7 July, from 9 pm. At 10 p.m., the Video Art installation will light up.
